KatadataOTO – The Metro Jaya Regional Police plans to increase patrols in several locations considered prone to illegal racing. These points are around Green Pramuka and Cempaka Putih streets, East Jakarta.

Both locations are considered to be frequently used as illegal racing arenas that are dangerous for road users.

"The road sections that are often used for illegal racing are one of our targets," said Police Commissioner Komarudin, Director of Traffic for the Metro Jaya Regional Police, as reported by Antara (19/07).

He also admitted that his team has recently taken action against illegal racing in several locations. Such as on Sudirman-Thamrin, Asia-Afrika, and Gerbang Pemuda streets.

"Including last night, we received another report of one in the North area towards Pantai Indah Kapuk," he said.

Not only illegal racing, he will also take action against large-capacity two-wheeled vehicles. This is because these motorcycles generally do not use license plates.

“We have confiscated several large-capacity vehicles for not using the appropriate Vehicle Registration Number Plates (TNKB). There are quite a few at the moment, so that has also become one of our targets,” he said.

However, Komarudin explained that the public need not worry if their vehicles have complete documents and have TNKB according to their use.

It was previously reported that Operation Patuh 2025 will be held simultaneously in Indonesia from Monday (14/07) to Sunday (27/07). During this activity, enforcement will not only be carried out electronically but also manually.

This is done to reach areas not yet equipped with ETLE CCTV so that surveillance can be more optimal.

  • Drivers using mobile phones or smart gadgets while operating a car or motorcycle
  • Underage drivers
  • Riders not using Indonesian National Standard (SNI) helmets
  • Drivers not using a safety belt or seatbelt
  • Drivers who violate traffic signs or Traffic Signal Lights (APILL)
  • Driving against the flow of traffic
  • Two-wheeled and four-wheeled vehicles exceeding the speed limit
