KatadataOTO – Bapenda (Regional Revenue Agency) Jakarta has achieved an impressive accomplishment. They successfully recorded a regional tax realization in 2024 of IDR 44.46 trillion.

The figure above shows an increase of about 2.15 percent from last year, as 2023 only recorded IDR 43.52 trillion.

Motor vehicle tax and land and building tax remained the largest contributors in those two years,” said Lusiana Herawati, Head of Bapenda Jakarta, to Antara on Tuesday (7/1).

Lusiana detailed that PKB or motor vehicle tax collected amounted to IDR 9.65 trillion, while PBB (Land and Building Tax) reached IDR 9.96 trillion.

Then there is also BBNKB (Motor Vehicle Title Transfer Fee) which ranked third, successfully realizing IDR 6.64 trillion.

Next is BPHTB (Duty on Acquisition of Land and Building Rights) at IDR 6.1 trillion. Lastly, the principal tax reached IDR 883.9 billion.

She also explained that the success above was inseparable from various strategic steps taken, such as updating tax object data, intensive tax collection, and strengthening the digital system to facilitate payments.

“The DKI Provincial Government hopes this positive trend can continue in 2025, where the target is set higher at IDR 48 trillion,” she continued.

Successfully Exceeded Target

On the other hand, the realization of motor vehicle tax revenue mentioned above has successfully exceeded the previously set target.

“This year we want to be at IDR 9.4 trillion, an increase from 2023 which was only IDR 9 trillion,” said Lusiana when met some time ago.

One of the programs that played a major role in the increase in PKB was the vehicle tax amnesty in Jakarta in December 2024.

She gave an example that before the amnesty, Bapenda was only able to collect IDR 30 billion to IDR 35 billion per day.

“However, after the vehicle tax amnesty, it reached IDR 40 billion a day, which is a decent increase,” said Lusiana.

For your information, in the last Jakarta vehicle tax amnesty, there were a number of programs offered to motorcycle and car owners.

First was the automatic waiver of administrative sanctions for PKB and BBNKB.

Next was the elimination of administrative sanctions in the form of interest arising from late payment of taxes owed or fines.
