One-Way and Contraflow Are Still Mainstays for the 2025 Eid Homecoming.

KatadataOTO – The 2025 Eid homecoming is still a few weeks away. However, the National Police Traffic Corps (Korlantas Polri) has already prepared various programs.

This includes traffic management schemes that will be implemented later. Ranging from one-way to contraflow systems.

"A national one-way system will be implemented to handle the surge in traffic (of travelers),'' said the Head of the National Police Traffic Corps, Inspector General Agus Suryonugroho, on the official Korlantas website on Wednesday (05/03).

Meanwhile, a contraflow system will be implemented by the police to reduce bottlenecks or road narrowing.

The one-way system will be implemented from Km 70 of the Cikampek Toll Road to Km 414 of the Kalikangkung Toll Road, Central Java.

Then, travelers from West Java can use the functional Japek (Jakarta-Cikampek) II Toll Road. This toll road will be opened as an alternative route.

"The homecoming route will have a one-way system towards the Trans-Java Toll Road up to Central Java, and it will also be (applied during) the return flow," continued the Head of Korlantas.

Agus also stated that the police have conducted surveys at various strategic points. Ranging from toll roads, national roads, ports, to tourist areas.

With this, it is hoped that the public's homecoming journey for Eid 2025 will run smoothly, with minimal traffic jams or vehicle build-up.

"We have mapped out points prone to congestion and accidents. Then prepared various traffic management scenarios so that the homecoming journey remains safe, orderly, and smooth," Agus affirmed.

Through the various anticipatory steps that have been prepared, the National Police Traffic Corps is optimistic it can provide a smooth and comfortable journey for travelers during Eid 2025.

Pros and Cons of Contraflow

On the other hand, the traffic management prepared by the National Police Traffic Corps has drawn many responses, especially regarding the implementation of contraflow during the 2025 Eid homecoming period.
