P2 Tiger Expected Not Only for the TNI, But Also for Export

KatadataOTO – PT SSE (Sentra Surya Ekajaya) has just launched the new P2 Tiger 4x4 APC (Armoured Personnel Carrier). This was done at their factory in the Tangerang area, on Thursday (23/1).

The presence of this tactical vehicle is the result of a collaboration between PT SSE and Texelis, a company from France.

“The new P2 Tiger is a manifestation of our efforts to increase local content to 70 percent,” said Major General TNI Piek Budyakto, Director General of Defense Potential at the Ministry of Defense (Kemhan).

According to him, PT SSE's P2 Tiger is expected to meet the needs of the TNI AD (Army) soldiers. Especially those serving in conflict areas.

In accordance with the direction of the Minister of Defense. So the safety of members can be guaranteed during military operations.

“This is important to support our defense independence in the future,” he continued.

In addition, Piek stated that the government continues to encourage the growth of the domestic defense industry. Through the active participation of the private sector, not just state-owned enterprises.

The above policy is in line with the 2019 Job Creation Law. It mentions opportunities for business actors to contribute to the development of defense equipment.

“We are optimistic that the national defense industry will grow, strengthening the economy and pushing Indonesia towards industrialization as the foundation of a developed nation,” said Piek.

He also very much hopes the P2 Tiger can be shipped, or exported, to a number of countries. So it is not only used by TNI soldiers.

This can then reflect Indonesia's quality and capability in the defense sector, which is beyond doubt.

For your information, the new P2 Tiger can carry a team of 10 soldiers. And it can withstand enemy attacks.

Because it is designed with Stanag 4569 level two to four bullet protection for both ballistic and mine protection.

This armored combat vehicle relies on the Celeris mobility platform from Texelis, so it is claimed to be able to traverse various terrains.

The launch of the P2 Tiger is also a perfect solution for countries that want to further develop their sovereign capabilities in the field of land defense.
