KatadataOTO – The increase in homecoming traffic on the Trans-Java Toll Road is starting to be felt. This is evident as the police have implemented a one-way policy today, Thursday (27/03).
This traffic engineering is implemented to break up vehicle congestion at several traffic jam points or bottlenecks.
“We need to anticipate this, it's likely there will be more movement after the Tarawih prayers,” said Police Brigadier General Raden Slamet Santoso, Director of Law Enforcement for the National Police Traffic Corps, on the official National Police Public Relations page.
Slamet further explained that KM 188 serves as a balancing point if a one-way traffic system is implemented, for both lane A and B.
Additionally, the Cikatama or Cikampek Utama and Kalikangkung Toll Gates (GT) are points to watch out for, with potential for congestion during the 2025 Eid homecoming.
“Then we anticipated several incidents on the routes that have bottlenecks. At KM 47, it narrows from four lanes to three,” he continued.
Furthermore, another congestion-prone location on the Trans-Java Toll Road during the 2025 Eid homecoming is at KM 70, as the road narrows from four lanes to three.
Not to forget KM 101, where three lanes are reduced to two. Therefore, the police have taken various anticipatory measures.
Such as stationing personnel at the three locations above to manage traffic flow in case of heavy congestion.
Nevertheless, the National Police Traffic Corps (Korlantas) has also prepared three strategies to minimize congestion points on the Trans-Java Toll Road during the 2025 Eid homecoming.
For example, the one-way system, which is already in effect today. It is being implemented on the Jakarta-Cikampek to Semarang-Batang Toll Road from March 27-29, 2025.
When the system is in effect, all toll gate entrances heading to Jakarta will be closed.
A similar policy will also be applied on the Semarang-Batang to Jakarta-Cikampek Toll Road from April 3-7, 2025.
Then, a contraflow system will be in place from KM 47 to KM 70 on the Jakarta-Cikampek Toll Road, starting from March 27 and ending on April 1, 2025.
Finally, the odd-even (ganjil genap) policy will start on Thursday (27/03) at 14:00 local time to anticipate vehicle buildup. It will then end during the return traffic flow, on Monday (07/04) at 24:00.
For your information, the 2025 Eid homecoming odd-even policy is implemented from the Tangerang-Merak to the Semarang-Batang toll road sections.
