KatadataOTO – Since June 1, 2025, the police have officially launched the “Indonesia Towards Zero Over Dimension and Overload” program. This activity was created because many people transport goods in trucks exceeding the maximum limit.
As a result, many vehicles have accidents, causing roads to deteriorate more quickly. However, the police are not immediately taking action against violators but are first conducting outreach regarding their violations.
“The program is being carried out slightly differently from previous implementations. Because there is an outreach phase for owners and users that will be conducted for one month,” said Police Commissioner Aries, Head of Operations for the National Police Traffic Corps, in his official statement (16/06).
Although the outreach has only been ongoing for two weeks, the police are quite serious in implementing it. This is evident from the number of vehicles they have successfully netted.
“Already, 42,000 units have been netted and 11,000 vehicles have been identified as Over Dimension this month,” he later stated.
This number is certain to continue to increase, considering the program will run for quite some time.
It was previously reported that the police are holding the Indonesia Towards Zero Over Dimension and Overload (ODOL) program. The activity is divided into three stages: outreach, warning, and law enforcement.
The outreach stage is currently underway, held from June 1 to 30, 2025. During this period, owners are expected to make improvements so their vehicles comply with regulations.
After the outreach stage, the National Police Traffic Corps will enter the warning phase from July 1–13. During this period, vehicles that still do not comply with regulations will be recorded and given a written warning, including the placement of a warning sticker.
Meanwhile, law enforcement will be carried out from July 14–27, coinciding with the implementation of Operation Patuh 2025.
Various methods of monitoring and enforcement will be carried out by the police to ensure driving discipline. This includes utilizing electronic ticketing (ETLE) and Weight In Motion (WIM).
With these technologies, it is hoped that monitoring can be carried out in more detail and run for 24 hours. This is certainly important because many violators actually operate at night.
