KatadataOTO – Entering the peak period of the homecoming exodus, PT Jasa Marga (Persero) revealed that 918,450 vehicles had returned to Jabotabek (Jakarta, Bogor, Tangerang, Bekasi, Depok) by D+3 of the Eid holiday.

This figure was obtained from data collected from March 31 to April 4, 2025, from four Toll Gates (GT), namely the Cikampek Utama GT from the Trans Java direction, the Kaliurip Utama GT and the Japek II South Functional GT from the Bandung direction, the Cikupa GT from the Merak direction, and the Ciawi GT from the Puncak direction.

Overall, Jasa Marga revealed that the number of vehicles returning to Jabotabek at the four main GTs has increased by 71.5 percent from normal traffic (138,917 vehicles), reaching 238,283 vehicles.

“During the D+3 period of the Eid al-Fitr 1446H holiday (Friday, April 4, 2025), Jasa Marga recorded traffic from the Trans Java and Bandung directions at the Cikampek Utama GT totaling 88,008 vehicles,” said Lisye Octaviana, Corporate Communication and Community Development Group Head of Jasa Marga, in an official statement, quoted on Saturday (06/03).

This record exceeds normal traffic flow, an increase of 217.9 percent from 27,680 vehicles.

Meanwhile, the Kalihurip Utama GT and the Japek II South Functional GT saw 54,199 vehicles, up from the usual 30,216 vehicles. Then, from the south towards the Ciawi GT, the figure was 44,031 vehicles, while the Cikupa GT had 52,045 vehicles.

With these high numbers, the public is advised to plan their trips and travel back to Jabotabek earlier than the predicted return traffic peak.

To help ease the journey, Jasa Marga has also prepared a 20 percent toll tariff discount on the Trans Java Toll Road, valid from Tuesday (08/04) at 05:00 AM WIB until Thursday (10/04) at 05:00 AM WIB.

Then, for the Trans Sumatra Toll Road, a similar discount applies on the same dates for continuous travel from the Sinasak GT or Kisaran GT to the Tangjungpura GT or Pangkalan Brandan GT.

Also, make sure to top up your electronic money card before driving to avoid causing congestion at the toll gates.
