KatadataOTO – The Provincial Government (Pemprov) of DKI Jakarta has officially granted an amnesty for Motor Vehicle Tax (PKB). This relief has been in effect since June 14, 2025.
This is an opportunity for motorcycle and car owners who wish to fulfill their obligations to the state.
Pramono Anung Wibowo, the Governor of DKI Jakarta, also said that they are intentionally holding the vehicle tax amnesty this year.
"Starting from June 14 until August 31, the Jakarta Government will waive administrative sanctions for Motor Vehicle Tax or PKB, and Motor Vehicle Title Transfer Fees," said Pramono on the official website of the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government, Wednesday (18/06).
He also hopes that the Jakarta motor vehicle tax amnesty can be promptly utilized by motorcycle and car owners.
This is because this policy is part of the celebration of two important moments from June to August 2025.
“This is part of a birthday gift for the residents of Jakarta and for the independence of the Republic of Indonesia,” Pramono continued.
He further explained that the ongoing vehicle tax amnesty is expected to ease the burden on the public.
It is also intended to encourage taxpayers to fulfill their annual overdue obligations.
"I want to express my deepest gratitude for the extraordinary tax payments you have made," he asserted.
The number one person in Jakarta also mentioned that Jakarta's tax revenue has currently reached 46.7 percent of the set target.
The DKI Provincial Government is also committed to transparency in tax management in the Capital City. So that its use can be maximized in the future.
As a reminder, the motor vehicle tax amnesty is given as a gift to motorists in celebration of DKI Jakarta's 498th Anniversary.
“This policy is stipulated in the Decree of the Head of the Regional Revenue Agency of DKI Jakarta Province Number e-0046 of 2025 concerning the Ex-Officio Abolition of Administrative Sanctions for Motor Vehicle Tax and Motor Vehicle Title Transfer Fees,” reads the announcement on the official website of the DKI Jakarta Bapenda.
This decision was made as a commitment by the Regional Government to make Jakarta a friendly and just city.
“On this special occasion for the residents of Jakarta, the Regional Government wants to ease the burden on citizens by waiving sanctions so they can also feel the joy of DKI Jakarta's Anniversary and Indonesia's Independence Day,” they continued.
Thus, administrative sanctions in the form of interest arising from late payment of taxes owed or fines will be waived.
Therefore, the public does not need to apply to receive this policy, as it is granted automatically by the system upon payment.
