KatadataOTO – DKI Jakarta will celebrate its 498th anniversary. Pramono Anung also plans to give various gifts to residents.
For example, a motor vehicle tax amnesty is intended for people who are compliant in fulfilling their obligations to the state.
"So the tax amnesty is not given to those who do not pay (are in arrears)," said Pramono Anung, Governor of DKI Jakarta, to Antara on Wednesday (11/06).
Pramono hopes that with the implementation of this policy, it will make things easier for motorcycle and car owners.
Especially for people who diligently pay their motor vehicle tax (PKB) every year.
"The vehicle tax amnesty is given to those who want to pay their taxes on that day. That's very different, right?" Pramono continued.
Unfortunately, Pramono Anung is not yet willing to provide detailed information about the vehicle tax amnesty being prepared.
For your information, DKI Jakarta's anniversary falls on June 22, 2025. Besides the amnesty, Pramono will also make public transportation free of charge.
As a reminder, the DKI Jakarta Government, together with the National Police Traffic Corps (Korlantas Polri), the Directorate General of Regional Financial Development of the Ministry of Home Affairs, and Jasa Raharja, were previously drafting a plan for a vehicle tax amnesty.
"Several policies that will be taken and have been carried out by the governor were discussed earlier,” said Agus Fatoni, Director General of Regional Finance, on the official Korlantas Polri website on a separate occasion.
One of the policies planned for implementation is providing incentives to people who are compliant in paying their PKB.
Meanwhile, for car and motorcycle owners who are often in arrears on their taxes, no incentives will be given.
“That is the principle of fairness; incentives are given to those who are truly compliant (in paying taxes),” he continued.
Furthermore, the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government is also considering the abolition of the progressive motor vehicle tax.
This step aims to improve administration. And to ensure more accurate vehicle ownership data.
“This policy is being considered for removal so that the vehicle owner is truly the one who is registered,” Agus Fatoni affirmed.
Agus also requested or advised the public to immediately process the transfer of vehicle ownership. This is to ensure it matches the actual owner's identity.
"So don't delay, and various regions have already abolished this BBN 2 (second vehicle transfer fee),” he said.
On the other hand, Inspector General Agus Suryonugroho, Head of the National Police Traffic Corps (Kakorlantas Polri), stated that he would support all forms of programs to increase motor vehicle tax compliance.
