This is done so that the public can easily renew this card-shaped driving document.

This is because a SIM will expire five years from the date of issuance. Residents are advised to renew it before the due date.

If you are even one day late, the police will require you to go through the SIM issuance process at the Satpas Office in Daan Mogot, West Jakarta.

It should be noted that renewing a SIM cannot be done just like that. There are steps and requirements that need to be followed.
