KatadataOTO – A portion of the toll road section Solo – Yogyakarta – Yogyakarta International Airport (NYIA) Kulon Progo is confirmed to operate on a limited basis during the 2025 Lebaran homecoming season. This move is expected to reduce potential traffic congestion.

This decision is expected to ease congestion, especially on the Klaten-Prambanan section, which often becomes a crucial point during the holiday season.

“We are working to make it functional for Lebaran 2025,” said Dody Hanggodo, Minister of Public Works (PU), as reported by Antara (24/02).

Although this toll project is not yet fully operational, the 6.7 km Prambanan-Purwomartani section will be opened functionally to smooth the flow of homecoming traffic.

"The operation is focused on reducing congestion at the Prambanan toll exit point, which often experiences severe traffic jams during the holiday season. We urge road users to continue to obey traffic rules and maintain safety during their journey,” he then added.

With this functional route, it is hoped that the 2025 Lebaran homecoming journey will be more comfortable and smoother for people traveling along the Solo – Yogyakarta – Kulon Progo route.

It should be noted that the total length of the Prambanan – Purwomartani section is 11.48 km. However, only lane B will be opened, and only category I vehicles will be allowed to pass.

The plan is for the section to be open only from 06:00 to 18:00, but this may change at the discretion of the police. A temporary toll exit will be located on LPMP road, Sleman Regency.

Furthermore, of the total 96.5 km length of the Solo-Yogyakarta-NYIA toll road, 22.3 km is already fully operational. During the 2025 Lebaran homecoming season, the 8.6 km Klaten-Prambanan section will be made fully functional, while the 6.7 km Prambanan-Purwomartani section will operate on a limited basis.

It should be noted that Lebaran 2025 is expected to fall on April 1. Interestingly, the Lebaran holiday is close to Nyepi Day, plus collective leave and the weekend. Therefore, the public will get a long holiday of 11 consecutive days.

Therefore, people are advised to manage their homecoming travel schedules more optimally to avoid traffic congestion.
