KatadataOTO – PT Hino Motors Manufacturing Indonesia (PT HMMI) continues to show its seriousness in developing the vehicle industry in the country. They prove this by continuously increasing the local components in their products.

The company has even established partnerships with Small and Medium Industries (IKM) as suppliers. Thanks to this, they now have a Domestic Component Level (TKDN) and Company Benefit Weight (BMP) certificate of over 40 percent.

“TKDN is not just about numbers, but about impact. It supports the growth of domestic industry, creates jobs, and reduces dependence on imports,” said Harianto Sariyan, Director of PT HMMI.

To obtain the TKDN and BMP certificates, PT HMMI must follow various procedures, from document verification to field audits by an Independent Verification Institution. The company successfully achieved a BMP value of 14.10 percent out of a maximum of 15 percent.

As of mid-2025, PT HMMI has obtained TKDN certificates for 31 vehicle types with a TKDN + BMP value between 44.35 percent and 57.26 percent. This certification provides a competitive advantage, especially in government procurement of goods and services.

“The government invites all industry players to use PT HMMI's achievement as a collective inspiration to continue increasing commitment, not just to produce in Indonesia but to truly build an industry based on domestic strength,” explained Dhini Widya Utari, S.T., M.M., Head of the Business Matching and P3DN Planning Team of the Ministry of Industry at GIIAS 2025.

It should be noted that PT HMMI was established in December 1982 with an investment value of USD 112.5 million. The factory, located in the Kota Bukit Indah industrial area, Purwakarta, produces commercial vehicles such as Hino-branded trucks and buses.

The company has five production lines: engine, transmission, light truck, medium truck, and bus production lines. This facility is operated by 1,578 direct employees and more than 150 thousand indirect workers from the local supply chain.

Currently, they have a production capacity of 75 thousand units per year. PT HMMI has also successfully localized components through strategic partnerships with 148 local component companies and hundreds of supporting service providers.
