KatadataOTO – The Central Java (Jateng) vehicle tax amnesty has been running since April 8, 2025. This policy has turned out to have a positive impact.
Many car and motorcycle owners are taking advantage of this relief. This is proven by the local PAD (Regional Original Revenue) results.
"We checked and there's an almost threefold increase in motor vehicle tax payments," said Ahmad Lutfi, Governor of Central Java on the official website of the Central Java Provincial Government, Sunday (13/04).
Lutfi explained that during the three days the motor vehicle tax amnesty has been running, they have received over Rp 28 billion.
According to him, this increase is inseparable from the high enthusiasm of the public to fulfill their obligations.
Even motor vehicle tax arrears of up to three, five, or ten years have now been paid in full.
Seeing this, Lutfi estimates that Central Java's PAD will continue to increase in line with the waiver of arrears and tax fines.
Moreover, the motor vehicle tax amnesty in Central Java will still be in effect until June 30, 2025. So there is plenty of time for motorcycle and car owners to take advantage of it.
On the other hand, Lutfi stated that the motor vehicle tax amnesty they are implementing is not solely to increase PAD.
But also to increase the awareness of the people of Solo, Semarang, and surrounding areas in fulfilling their obligations.
In the future, it is hoped that people will be more orderly in paying taxes, whether online, offline, or by coming directly to a Samsat office.
Lastly, Lutfi revealed that the PKB (Motor Vehicle Tax) that goes into the PAD will be returned to the community.
In the form of developing facilities and infrastructure for the community's convenience. For example, the construction of road infrastructure, education, and supporting food self-sufficiency in Central Java.
"This has become a kind of euphoria for the community. On one hand, the PAD of the province and districts or cities is better," Lufti affirmed.
As a reminder, the motor vehicle tax amnesty in Central Java is stipulated in Central Java Governor Regulation (Pergub) Number 31 of 2024.
It explains the management of regional receivables. From the implementation of tax relaxation based on this governor's regulation, it is expected to stimulate the settlement of PKB receivables up to Rp 2.8 trillion in Central Java.
Motorcycle and car owners are advised to immediately take advantage of the relief provided.
"You have to be quick, because this is the only opportunity we are giving,” Luthfi asserted.
Furthermore, if people want to get this relief, they can go directly to the nearest Samsat office to their home.
