KatadataOTO – The DKI Transportation Agency is implementing traffic management schemes on nine road sections in Tambora and Tamansari, West Jakarta. This decision was made to support the Jakarta Sewerage Development Project (JSDP) Zone-1 Package 3 Segment 4 from the Ministry of Public Works (PU).

It is hoped that with this diversion, the public can adjust their travel schedules so as not to be late in reaching their destinations,

"The traffic management is being implemented on Kali Besar Barat, Tanah Sereal Raya, Pintu Kecil, Pekapuran 1, Krendang Bara, Kali Besar Timur, Jembatan Batu, Kunir, and Kampung Jawa streets," said Indarto, Head of the Traffic Section of the West Jakarta Transportation Sub-Department, as reported by Antara (09/01).

For Kali Besar Barat, Kali Besar Timur, and Pintu Kecil streets, the traffic management has been made one-way for four-wheeled vehicles.

Meanwhile, on Jembatan Batu, the JSDP Zone 1 Package 3 Segment 4 project is taking up the Transjakarta bus lane, resulting in a reduction of the road's width.

"The traffic management on Jembatan Batu street has been made two-way and is still passable for four-wheeled vehicles," he continued.
A reduction in road width is also being carried out on Kunir, but it remains passable for cars in both directions. Furthermore, traffic flow in Pancoran will be made one-way with a temporary widening, and traffic on Pekapuran I will be diverted to Pekapuran Raya

The traffic management on Tanah Sereal Raya (Tambora) will involve a closure for the duration of the project. Traffic flow will be diverted to Tanah Sereal XVII, XIII, and XI on Keamanan street.

A closure is also being implemented on Krendang Barat. Therefore, traffic will be diverted via the north side of Krendang Barat street to Krendang Selatan I street.

To ensure smooth traffic flow, the DKI Jakarta Transportation Agency has deployed a number of personnel at points on the road sections affected by the Jakarta Sewerage Development Project (JSDP) Zone-1 Package 3 Segment 4.

"Two officers are stationed at each road section point to manage traffic. They will prevent public transport from stopping indiscriminately. We have also prepared tow trucks," said Indarto.

He also urged the public to avoid the road sections under construction and to adapt to the arrangements, obey traffic signs, follow the instructions of officers, and prioritize safety.
