Meanwhile, the tax surcharge rate is around 66 percent for both PKB and BBNKB. It should be noted that the PKB and BBNKB surcharge does not apply in all regions; for example, the Special Region of Jakarta does not implement it.
Finally, new car buyers in Jakarta must face new progressive vehicle tax rates. This is stipulated in Regional Regulation No. 1 of 2024.
Furthermore, as seen in Article 7 of DKI Jakarta Regional Regulation No. 1 of 2024, the PKB rate for the second vehicle and onwards increases by 0.5 percent.
Thus, from the original 2.5 percent, it now becomes 3 percent. Then, for the third vehicle, it is raised to 4 percent.
Meanwhile, for the fourth car or motorcycle, it is set at 5 percent. However, ownership of the fifth and subsequent vehicles is set at 6 percent.
This is different from the previous rule, which stipulated a 0.5 percent progressive tax rate increase up to the 17th ownership and beyond, with a percentage of 10 percent.
