KatadataOTO – Daihatsu Motor Corporation (DMC) returns to enliven the Japan Mobility Show (JMS) 2025. The biennial automotive exhibition takes place at Tokyo Big Sight, Japan.
This time, they are carrying the theme Daihatsumei. It consists of two Japanese words, namely Daihatsu and Hatsumei, which mean innovation or discovery.
This is fitting as the Daihatsu booth displays future concept cars. Many innovations are embedded to make it easier for its users in the future.
As a vehicle manufacturer established in 1907, Daihatsu itself has presented innovative cars.
Starting from combining excitement, ease, and comfort. However, its main focus includes compact dimensions and affordable prices.
The Daihatsu KAYOIBAKO-K is presented as a tiny commercial vehicle. The smallest of the Toyota Group's KAYOIBAKO series.
The car is designed to assist workers in delivering goods. Furthermore, the unit can connect to a data center, offering features from summoning the car to automatic parking.
There is also the Daihatsu K-OPEN, built with the spirit of driving a COPEN in the future.
The focus is on making the driver feel the comfort of a car. It then presents a lightweight model that allows one to enjoy the open air.
The Daihatsu Midget X is a development of the legendary model, the Midget, or better known as Bemo in Indonesia.
The concept is a vehicle capable of accommodating 1 + 2 drivers and passengers. The innovative seating format makes the cabin space more comfortable.
Meanwhile, the Daihatsu K-Vision is a mini hybrid car that features e-Smart Hybrid technology. The vehicle's power source is said to be a derivative of the Daihatsu Rocky Hybrid.
The Daihatsu K-Vision was developed using the latest DNGA (Daihatsu New Generation Architecture) platform.
It is mentioned that the new platform can provide 20 percent better efficiency than the conventional version.
Not to be missed is the Daihatsu e-ATRAI, which was showcased at the Japan Mobility Show 2025 exhibition. This box-shaped electric car has tiny dimensions.
The combination of a quiet cabin and powerful performance is one of the advantages of the e-ATRAI.
It offers an EV (Electric Vehicle) that prioritizes the practicality of a Kei commercial vehicle. The Kei Car itself is the most popular type of car among the people of Japan.
