The Mazda EZ-60 electric SUV could be a replacement for the MX-30, which is reportedly set to be discontinued by the end of 2025.
“We ensure that every model we introduce will be adapted to the market characteristics and consumer needs in Indonesia,” Ricky affirmed.
For your information, the EZ-60 electric SUV (Sport Utility Vehicle) and its sedan version, the EZ-6, are made by a joint venture between Mazda and Changan, designed specifically for the Chinese market.
However, it turns out that Mazda Indonesia is open to the possibility of bringing both models to fill their electrification lineup in the country.
SUVs themselves are one of the popular vehicle types in Indonesia. Various best-selling electric cars in the country are SUVs, such as the BYD Sealion 7, Chery J6 and Omoda E5, to the Hyundai Ioniq 5.
Then, when compared to the MX-30, the EZ-60 has a more conventional yet elegant, modern, and sporty character.
The driving range is also much farther compared to the MX-30. On a single charge, the Mazda EZ-60 can travel up to 600 km.
Although designed to suit the tastes of the Chinese market, the distinctive features and Kodo design language are maintained on the fascia. So the EZ-60's identity as a Mazda car is not completely lost.
However, in the interior, the Chinese-style car character is very apparent. There are no physical buttons for feature operation; everything is controlled via a 26.45-inch head unit.
In its home country, the Mazda EZ-60 will be launched in both EV and EREV (Extended Range Electric Vehicle) options.
