KatadataOTOGeely Auto Indonesia has marketed a number of cars in Indonesia. Starting from the EX5 to the newly launched EX2.

Then, this Chinese brand has also locally assembled all of their four-wheeled vehicles in Indonesia.

The target is for Geely to become the Chinese electric car brand with the highest Local Component Level (TKDN) in Indonesia.

“We are targeting a local component level of 60 percent for the models that have already been launched,” said Constantinus Herlijoso, Sales and Channel Development Director of Geely Auto Indonesia in PIK 2, Tangerang, on Tuesday (20/01).

Herlijoso said this step was taken to have a positive impact on the country's automotive industry.

Moreover, Geely is committed to a long-term presence in Indonesia, thereby strengthening product localization.

For Geely, increasing local content is part of their long-term strategy for marketing Electric Vehicles (EVs).

After strengthening its domestic production base, Geely wants to increase the competitiveness of its products in the electric car market.

In addition, this step also strengthens integration with all industry players within the ecosystem.

“With strong production in the local market, Geely wants to contribute to reducing carbon emissions, creating jobs, and uplifting the automotive supply chain in Indonesia,” Herlijoso continued.

For your information, some time ago they officially began locally assembling the Geely EX2 electric car.

The Chinese company utilizes the facilities of Handal Indonesia Motor (HIM) in Purwakarta, West Java.

It was mentioned that this EV has achieved a TKDN value of up to 46.5 percent. This figure is certain to increase further.

Besides the EX2, two other models are already being made in Purwakarta, namely the Geely EX5 and the Starray EM-i plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV).
