KatadataOTO – Hybrid cars are starting to capture public attention in Indonesia. Many people want to own these environmentally friendly four-wheeled vehicles.
As experienced by PT SIS (Suzuki Indomobil Sales). Their new car sales in April 2025 were dominated by hybrid models.
In an official statement, Suzuki said that their hybrid four-wheeled vehicles contributed up to 51 percent last month.
The above figure is considered positive throughout 2025. Because since the beginning of the year, the demand for hybrid cars has been quite high.
In January, hybrid models contributed 46 percent, in February 47 percent, and in March 2025, it reached 52 percent.
"In terms of percentage, the contribution of hybrid models still shows positive performance and must continue to be managed well," said Randy R. Murdoko, Dept. Head of 4W PT SIS, on Tuesday (20/05).
Randy explained that the high public interest in Suzuki hybrid cars is due to a shift in user attitudes towards a preference for low-emission vehicles.
Then, the market's acceptance of hybrid technology has become an easy sustainable mobility solution. It is also reliable and suitable for Indonesian conditions.
"Building (public) trust in hybrid technology certainly has its own challenges," continued Randy.
He added that two of Suzuki's three hybrid cars, namely the Ertiga and XL7, are domestically made. This encourages people to want to own them.
In addition, this Japanese brand provides a long-term commitment to its consumers. Thus providing a sense of security and comfort.
"With our consistency and sincerity in serving customers, the benefits are slowly becoming visible and can be felt together," said Randy.
Unfortunately, Suzuki did not specify in detail how many of their hybrid cars were successfully sold in the country. Including the total sales figures for last month.
