KatadataOTO – The arrival of the Toyota Veloz Hybrid is anticipated by many. Moreover, this car is rumored to be launching soon.
A salesperson revealed that the four-wheeled vehicle with a hybrid powertrain will hit the roads in November 2025.
He even explained that there are a number of changes from the conventional Toyota Veloz to the hybrid version that will be sold later.
“The Veloz Q Hybrid is actually the same as the Veloz Q TSS, the only addition will be the EV buttons, the EV mode,” said the salesperson to KatadataOTO, Wednesday (15/10).
He further explained that the EV mode on the Veloz Hybrid is the same as on the Toyota Yaris Cross Hybrid. So owners can drive entirely on battery power without engaging the gasoline engine.
Thus, the fuel consumption of Toyota's new hybrid car can be more efficient when used by the owner.
On the other hand, the Toyota Veloz Hybrid is believed to rely on a powertrain similar to its sibling.
“If the engine has the exact specifications of the Yaris Cross and is put into the Veloz, the (battery) is also the same,” the salesperson continued.
If what the salesperson said is true, then the Toyota Veloz Hybrid will carry a 2NR-VEX 1,500 cc four-cylinder inline VVT-i engine.
On paper, it is claimed to be able to produce up to 89 hp at 5,500 rpm. While the peak torque reaches 121 Nm at 4,000 rpm-4,800 rpm.
Not to forget, there is an electric motor that has 79 hp of power with 141 Nm of torque. It is then paired with a 0.7 kW capacity lithium-ion battery.
On the other hand, he stated that the design of the Toyota Veloz Hybrid is still like the previous version, with not many changes.
“The additions are probably just the hybrid emblems, later there will probably be an HEV sticker,” he concluded.
