KatadataOTO – The flood of electric cars in Indonesia has apparently brought a direct negative impact. As is being felt by Audio entrepreneurs.

This is because, according to them, many Electric Vehicles (EVs) carry the latest technology. For example, head units that are integrated with various features.

Starting from operating the entertainment system, AC settings, navigation, main headlight operation, voice commands, to a 360-degree camera.

This has apparently made electric car owners reluctant to modify the audio on their vehicles. Besides it not being easy to find a suitable product.

“Because electric cars now have good speakers, they already have power, and the head units are also large. Then, the (EV) head unit cannot be replaced,” said Ayong Jeong, CEO and Founder of Kramat Motor in North Jakarta some time ago.

Ayong explained that the electric car's head unit cannot be replaced because it is connected to the vehicle's Central Processing Unit (CPU) or processor.

Therefore, it cannot be carelessly modified by owners of electric cars like BYD, Wuling, Aletra, to Chery.

In addition, users of these electric four-wheeled vehicles are also worried that the warranty will be voided if there are changes to the electrical system.

With the various considerations above, audio entrepreneurs are struggling. The continuity of their business is stalled.

“It greatly affects the aftermarket business. Especially the (sales of) head units to amplifiers,” he added.

In fact, the impact is quite large. Causing their turnover to drop quite sharply in the 2025 period.

The boss of Kramat Motor revealed that the situation they are facing is very difficult to get through.
