“This year, if we don't change our strategy, our turnover will drop a lot, it could be up to 20-30 percent,” Ayong asserted.

Old Cars Become the Mainstay

Ayong revealed that the condition of audio entrepreneurs is also increasingly threatened. Such as with the presence of new models from Japanese manufacturers.

Just like electric cars, new products from Toyota, Lexus, to Honda make owners reluctant to make modifications.

“Head unit players now have their market share left in second-hand cars. Thankfully, Indonesia has not yet implemented a scrap car rule, so there are still many old cars,” Ayong asserted.

He gave an example that owners of old cars prefer to update the audio system and then the interior rather than selling their vehicles.

Thus, the audio market in Indonesia is becoming narrower. Forcing entrepreneurs to find other ways to survive.

“So, like it or not, we have to play in non-electronics that are not connected to the ECU and CPU. For example, lights, grilles, body kits, to 360-degree cameras,” Ayong concluded.

However, the competition is no less difficult. Considering that electric cars from China are also already equipped with various latest features.
