There is also an accessory package available that can transform the Slate from a pickup into an SUV, complete with a roll cage, airbags, and rear seats. It can be assembled by yourself or with assistance from the manufacturer.

While the Toyota Hilux Rangga still uses a conventional engine, the Slate Auto truck is fully powered by an electric motor.

According to the official statement, the Slate truck is equipped with a 52.7 kWh capacity battery and can accommodate a journey of 150 miles or the equivalent of 241.4 km on a single charge.

But there is another option with an 84.3 kWh battery, offering a more capable range of 240 miles (about 386.2 km).

This configuration is claimed to produce capable power to meet the needs of Slate Auto pickup truck owners, namely 150 kW or 201.1 hp.

Although there are issues with US import tariffs that could potentially harm domestic producers, Slate Auto guarantees its newest product is assembled in the US and receives government incentives.

Therefore, the price offered at launch will be relatively low, around 20 thousand USD. In rupiah, that figure is around Rp 336.6 million with the current exchange rate of Rp 16.6 thousand per US dollar.

“Slate is here to return power to the hands of consumers who have been neglected by the automotive industry,” said Barman.
