KatadataOTO – The government has not yet realized the subsidy for electric motorcycles for the 2025 period. This assistance is highly anticipated by many people.

One of them is the Indonesian Electric Motorcycle Association (Aismoli). Because they have already set a sales target for this year.

“If we get the subsidy this August, we can sell 5,000 units of electric motorcycles per month,” said Budi Setiyadi, Chairman of Aismoli, to KatadataOTO some time ago.

According to Budi, if manufacturers are able to sell 5,000 units every month starting from August, then by December 2025, it is estimated that 20,000 electric motorcycles will be sold.

Therefore, Budi strongly urges President Prabowo Subianto and his ministers to truly provide the subsidy.

Moreover, Budi admitted that they want to move quickly to market Electric Vehicles (EVs) to the public if there is assistance.

“To the public, I will educate as much as possible so they can directly take advantage of good programs from the government. Hopefully, a minimum of 20,000 and a maximum of 30,000 units this year,” Budi affirmed.

Furthermore, Budi revealed that from January to June 2025, around 12,000 electric motorcycles have been purchased by the public.

However, Aismoli's plan to sell 30,000 electric motorcycles in 2025 is considered quite challenging, considering the Indonesian two-wheeled vehicle market is not doing well.

Several parties predict that in the second semester of 2025, the public's purchasing power will weaken further. This could disrupt the sales of electric two-wheeled vehicles.

Therefore, Aismoli must work very hard if it wants to sell tens of thousands of electric motorcycles in the country by the end of the year.

Government Commitment to Subsidies is Needed

Based on the facts above, Aismoli is very hopeful that the government will truly provide assistance next month.

“For me, hopefully this isn't just giving false hope (PHP). Because from what I see, this has been going on since the beginning of 2025,” said Budi.
