KatadataOTO – In 2025 the new motorcycle market faced various obstacles. Causing its performance to falter slightly.

However, towards the end of the year, it slowly recovered. The market became slightly more vibrant again.

Yamaha Indonesia Motor Manufacturing (YIMM) has high hopes for the new two-wheeled vehicle market situation in the country.

"From the APM (Brand Holder Agents), the desire is to keep moving towards growth (in 2026) like that," said Rifki Maulana, Manager of Public Relations, YRA & Community at YIMM in Jakarta last week.

Yamaha hopes the government can support the automotive industry. Especially in the new motorcycle segment, so that it can continue to increase.

Such as by creating policies or stimuli that can encourage growth next year.

That way, the two-wheeled vehicle market can continue to show positive performance. Thus, it can have an impact on many sectors.

"Hopefully, government policies can also support the growth of the automotive industry," Rifki continued.

As a reminder, according to data from the Indonesian Motorcycle Industry Association (AISI), last month 523,591 units were distributed from factories to dealers (wholesales).

If observed, the number above weakened by 11.31 percent compared to the achievement in the previous month.

This is because in October 2025, new motorcycle wholesales in the country had reached 590,362 units.

However, when compared to November 2024, it shows an increase. Reaching 2.08 percent from 512,942 units.

Meanwhile, the total wholesales of new motorcycles throughout 2025 successfully reached the level of 5,950,844 units.

This has surpassed last year's total, which was only 5,929,830 units. There is a difference of about 0.35 percent higher.

This result can be considered quite good. Considering there were many obstacles throughout 2025 that affected new motorcycle wholesales.

On the other hand, AISI also reported new motorcycle wholesales in the export market. In November 2025, it recorded 43,426 units.

It was corrected again by 11.39 percent compared to the 49,009 units throughout October 2025.

In total, Yamaha, Honda, Suzuki, TVS, and Kawasaki successfully exported 502,592 two-wheeled vehicles from January to November 2025.

Looking at the data above, many parties predict that new motorcycle wholesales could finish at 6.4 million units.

The above could happen, considering that at the end of the year, manufacturers usually compete to entice the public.

Such as by presenting various attractive programs. For example, discounts, tenor reductions, to light installment options.
