KatadataOTO – Vehicle tax amnesty for motor vehicles (PKB) remains an effective strategy to encourage the public to fulfill their obligations to the state.
Various Provincial Governments (Pemprov) have provided relief to car and motorcycle owners.
It is hoped that with this stimulus, the public will be willing to pay their vehicle taxes more punctually.
Considering there are 11 provinces in Indonesia holding a motor vehicle tax amnesty in July 2025. So it can be utilized by all citizens.
Here, KatadataOTO summarizes which regions are implementing a vehicle tax amnesty this month.
DKI Jakarta is one of the regions providing relief for drivers. This program has been running since June 14 and will end on August 31, 2025.
This policy is part of the celebration of two important moments from June to August 2025.
“This is part of a birthday gift for the citizens of Jakarta and for the independence of the Republic of Indonesia,” said Pramono on the official website of the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government some time ago.
The program is stipulated in the Decree of the Head of the Regional Revenue Agency of DKI Jakarta Province Number e-0046 of 2025 concerning the Ex-Officio Abolition of Administrative Sanctions for Motor Vehicle Tax and Motor Vehicle Title Transfer Fees.
On the other hand, the West Java (Jabar) Provincial Government has extended the motor vehicle tax amnesty period in Bandung, Bogor, to Tasikmalaya.
Originally set to end on the upcoming June 30, it can now be utilized by the public until September 30, 2025.
Motorcycle and car users will be exempted from principal arrears and fines. Then, the payment for the Mandatory Road Traffic Accident Fund Contribution (SWDKLLJ) will only be for two periods.
In addition, the West Java Provincial Government is also waiving transfer fees and vehicle taxes for cars and motorcycles from outside the province.
On the other hand, the Banten Provincial Government has also extended the motor vehicle tax amnesty program in its region.
The decision was announced directly by Andra Soni, the Governor of Banten, during a visit to the Samsat service center in Ciputat, South Tangerang.
