East Java Does Something Similar

Previously, East Java had done something similar. The government there ensures that vehicle taxes will not skyrocket due to the implementation of the opsen.

This is in accordance with the directive from the Acting Governor of East Java that the collection of PKB or BBNKB should not be an additional burden for the public.

“The imposition of the tax remains the same as the previous year, so Governor's Decree number 100.3.3.1/722/KPTS/031/2024 was issued,” said Bobby Soemiarsono, Acting Regional Secretary of East Java Province on Instagram @biro.pbjatim, Monday (23/12).

Boby revealed that the decree discusses the Provision of Relief for the Basic Imposition of Motor Vehicle Tax and Vehicle Title Transfer Fees.

For example, the PKB rate for first vehicle ownership was lowered by 0.3 percent, from 1.5 percent to 1.2 percent.

Meanwhile, the BBNKB was also lowered by 0.5 percent. So the public only pays 12 percent, down from the original 12.5 percent.

Meanwhile, BBN-2, or the title transfer fee for the second ownership transfer of a motor vehicle, has been made zero, or in other words, free.
