KatadataOTO – Not long ago, the seventh President of the Republic of Indonesia, Joko Widodo, visited the Metro Jaya Regional Police to report allegations of a fake diploma.

He claimed to have gone directly to report to the police because he no longer serves as president.

“Yes, this is actually a minor issue, the matter of the fake diploma allegation. But it needs to be brought to the legal realm, so that everything is clear and straightforward,” said Jokowi as quoted by Antara, Thursday (01/05).

However, another thing that caught the spotlight online was Jokowi's car when he visited the Metro Jaya Regional Police.

He was seen using a Toyota Kijang Innova Reborn passenger car. The license plate number is B 2329 SXI.

Based on recorded information, the vehicle belongs to PT Indonesia Berlian Y, which is suspected to be a company owned by Jokowi's daughter, Kahiyang Ayu.

Upon further investigation, it was discovered that the Kijang Innova had overdue taxes of around Rp 6.3 million.

This figure includes a PKB (Motor Vehicle Tax) fine of Rp 121.4 thousand and an SWDKLLJ (Mandatory Road Accident Fund Contribution) fine of Rp 35 thousand.

However, based on KatadataOTO's search on May 1, 2025, through the Jakarta Samsat-PKB website, the fine amount has changed to zero and the tax period status is still valid.

This is not the first case of an official's vehicle having overdue taxes; a similar thing was also done by Dedi Mulyadi, the Governor of West Java.

The luxury car used at that time was a Lexus LX600. The PKB fine reached Rp 40.4 million, the late fee was Rp 1.6 million, the SWDKLLJ was Rp 143 thousand, and its fine was Rp 70 thousand.

However, Dedi Mulyadi explained that the Lexus LX600 was still being paid for in installments.

“I want to state that the car has a Jakarta license plate, because the loan is not yet fully paid, so I will transfer its registration to West Java,” said Dedi through a post on his personal TikTok account.

He also promised that all overdue vehicle taxes on his luxury car would be paid off, and promised to be more compliant in the future.

“I have always had a tradition, when I was the Regent of Purwakarta, all the license plates were from Purwakarta. Today I am the Governor of West Java, all the license plates are from West Java,” Dedi Mulyadi affirmed.
