KatadataOTO – People who want to buy a new vehicle via trade-in will now find it easier. This is because Astra Financial in collaboration with OLX Mobbi, will open a booth in the parking area.

Prospective customers will be able to have their vehicles inspected and trade them in for a new one. They will even receive a promo in the form of cashback up to millions of rupiah.

“So, customers who want to trade in can have their vehicle inspected to determine its value. Then they are also entitled to cashback of up to IDR 6.8 million,” said Tan Chian Hok, Project Director of Astra Financial for GIIAS 2025 (16/07).

He revealed that this facility will make it easier for customers who want to buy a new car but have difficulty selling their old unit. Especially since the GIIAS 2025 exhibition only lasts for two weeks.

“So the goal is to make it easier for customers to transact,” he later said.

Astra Financial itself is quite aggressive at this GIIAS 2025 event. They are bringing their entire ecosystem, from financing to vehicle insurance.

With this, they are optimistic they can achieve a transaction value of IDR 2.4 trillion, the same as last year's achievement. That figure is actually considered high because there is currently a decline in sales.

Not only that, they will also be present at GIIAS Bandung and Semarang. This is different from last year's event, which was only in Tangerang and Surabaya.

“But last year we were only present at two GIIAS events, namely Tangerang and Surabaya, whereas now Bandung and Semarang have been added. So the overall total transaction target is IDR 2.9 trillion,” added Tan Chian Hok.

Car Sales Still Far from Expectations

Car sales in Indonesia in 2025 are considered to be not yet meeting expectations. Based on Gaikindi data, total wholesales for the first semester only reached 372,740 units.

That number is down by 35,280 or 8.6 percent compared to the same period last year. In the first semester of 2024, car wholesales in Indonesia amounted to 410,020 units.

The same thing happened with retail sales. Throughout the first semester of 2025, the number of models delivered to customers was only 390,467 units.

That figure is 41,986 units or 9.7 percent smaller than the previous year. In the same period last year, retail sales reached 432,453 units.

GIIAS is expected to encourage people to purchase vehicles. So that the automotive industry can at least grow in the second semester.
