KatadataOTO – Despite the ongoing decline in vehicle sales, Astra Financial is still present at the Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS) 2025. They are even still the main platinum sponsor for this year's event.

They even claim to remain optimistic about achieving high transaction values, especially at the GIIAS 2025 event, which starts this week.

“Our target is to get 7,000 vehicle orders during GIIAS 2025. As for the transaction value target, in Tangerang alone, the hope is for it to be the same as last year, which is Rp 2.4 trillion,” said Tan Chian Hok, Project Director of Astra Financial for GIIAS 2025 (16/07)

He revealed that the recent decline in car sales is expected to still be felt during GIIAS 2025. Therefore, a target similar to last year's is the most reasonable achievement.

“But last year we were only present at two GIIAS events, namely Tangerang and Surabaya, whereas now Bandung and Semarang have been added. So the total transaction target from all four events is Rp 2.9 trillion,” he then added.

He also revealed that although car sales in Indonesia are currently under pressure, the industry still has a chance to at least survive. Moreover, the sales of electric vehicles are now quite high.

“From what I hear, there will still be a lot of EV products, and it will be massive. Right now, their population might have already reached 10 percent,” he then added.

Attended by Various Vehicle Brands

It should be noted that GIIAS 2025 will be held again at ICE BSD from July 24 to August 3, 2025. The exhibition will be attended by dozens of car and motorcycle brands showcasing various new products.

Yohannes Nangoi, Chairman of Gaikindo, even revealed that GIIAS 2025 will be the most comprehensive automotive exhibition in the world. This is because the event is attended by many brands from various countries.

“I have seen automotive exhibitions abroad firsthand, and they are not as complete as in Indonesia. Because here there are brands from China, Japan, Korea, Vietnam, and also the European continent,” he said some time ago.

Not only that, various companies from supporting industries are also confirmed to be participating. Their presence is expected to make it easier for visitors who want to modify their vehicles.
