BAIC provides support to Team Indonesia by lending two cars to serve as official vehicles.
KatadataOTO – BAIC Indonesia announced its latest collaboration at the IIMS 2025 event. This time they are providing support for Team Indonesia.
The team is part of the Indonesian Olympic Committee (NOC Indonesia). This collaboration aims to help athletes strive for maximum achievement.
BAIC Indonesia's participation in various sectors in the country is not the first. It is proof of their commitment to supporting the country's economy in the automotive industry.
BAIC Indonesia, through PT JIO Distribusi Indonesia, is also heavily involved in the sports sector. Support in the form of sponsoring the Dewa United football team has been in place since July 2024.
“We believe that sports have the power to unite the nation and appreciate the younger generation. Through this support, we hope to make a positive contribution to the development of sports in Indonesia,” said Dhani Yahya, Chief Operating Officer of BAIC Indonesia in a press release (13/02).
It was further stated that the collaboration between the two parties is to continue building a positive image of the nation in the eyes of the world.
What BAIC Indonesia has done received appreciation from the NOC. This could encourage other private parties to participate.
“Collaboration is the key to achieving a common goal, which is to improve Indonesia's sports achievements on the world stage. Hopefully, this step will be a catalyst for other private parties to support the development and improvement of Indonesia's sports achievements,” said Raja Sapta Oktohari, Chairman of the Indonesian Olympic Committee.
It was announced that throughout 2025, Team Indonesia will compete in the Asian Winter Games (AWG) Harbin 2025, the Asian Youth Games in Bahrain, the Islamic Solidarity Games (ISG) in Saudi Arabia, and the SEA Games in Bangkok.
For your information, BAIC Indonesia's support comes in the form of loaning units, namely the BJ40 Plus and X55 II. These two SUVs from China will be the official vehicles for Team Indonesia.
