KatadataOTO – BMW Group Indonesia revealed that they are open to all environmentally friendly technologies. This makes it easier for them to provide vehicles according to driving needs.

One of its mainstays now is the mild hybrid, which has been installed in several models. Thanks to this, fuel efficiency will increase without sacrificing performance and customer habits.

“This technology is already efficient for daily use and quite easy to use. Customers do not need to charge but can drive with peace of mind,” said Peter Sunny Medalla, President Director of BMW Group Indonesia.

Not only that, he also revealed that many BMW fans still love the sound of a BMW engine. This is something that certainly cannot be obtained from an electric vehicle.

“There are still many who want to hear the engine sound when driving on the road. Hybrid and mild hybrid technologies are the solution for them,” he then added.

He also revealed that his company has actually been using mild hybrid technology for a long time. It has even been made a part of global innovation.

Unfortunately in Indonesia, this innovation has received less attention. It is often not even classified in the hybrid vehicle category.

In fact, BMW has embedded it in several main models including the latest X3. This car is equipped with a 2,000 cc 4-cylinder engine capable of producing 190 hp and 310 Nm of torque.

This amount of power allows the car to accelerate to 100 km per hour in just 8.5 seconds. The model features a 48V mild hybrid system with an 8-speed Steptronic automatic transmission.

In terms of appearance, the BMW X3 comes with a sharp look thanks to the use of the kidney grille and slim-designed LED headlights. Meanwhile, at the rear, BMW has installed L-shaped LED lights.

Inside the cabin, the manufacturer has also installed a curved display with BMW Operating System 9.

Several safety features have also been installed, such as Lane Departure Warning, Front Collision Warning, Speed Limit Info, Exit Warning, Parking Assistant, and Reversing Assistant Steering and Lane Control Assistant.
