BYD Introduces Various New Models at Shanghai Auto Show 2025

KatadataOTO – Shanghai Auto Show 2025 is being utilized by BYD to showcase several new Ocean Series models. These models are the Ocean-S, Seal 06 EV, Seal 06 DM-i Travel Edition, Sealion DM-i, and Sealion 06 EV.

Each vehicle will come with various advantages to meet the mobility needs of the global community. Moreover, competition in the EV segment is now increasingly tight, so development must be done quickly.

BYD also confirmed that it will launch these models in stages in 2025.

List of Cars Displayed by BYD at the Shanghai Auto Show 2025

1. BYD Ocean-S Concept Car

The first featured car is the BYD Ocean-S, which is still a concept. The model is presented with a focus on its exterior appearance to attract public interest.

BYD has designed the car to look elegant with smooth, flowing curves. Meanwhile, the front has been designed by the manufacturer to give a sporty impression.

Inside, BYD has created a wraparound cabin complete with biomimetic seats and lighting details. This look is inspired by the ocean.

2. BYD Sealion 06

Next is the BYD Sealion 06, which sits in the SUV segment and comes in two types: EV and DM-i.

The Chinese manufacturer confirmed that both models are built using fifth-generation DM technology and the e-Platform 3.0 Evo. The car has a rather bold appearance with uniquely designed front and rear lights.

3. BYD Seal 06 EV

The third model is the BYD Seal 06 EV, which enters the sedan segment. The manufacturer claims that the car uses a dynamic design with smooth lines throughout the vehicle's body.

The car uses the e-Platform 3.0 Evo and is equipped with the latest technologies such as DiPilot 100 and DiSus-C. This new model will be launched in Q2 2025.

4. BYD Seal 06 DM-i Travel Edition

Claimed to be the world's first super-hybrid wagon, the BYD Seal 06 DM-i Travel Edition comes with various advantages. Powered by fifth-generation DM technology, this car offers low fuel consumption and a long driving range.

This model will be launched in the second quarter of 2025.
