There's an approximately Rp 700 million difference between the Denza D9 electric car and the Toyota Alphard hybrid; check out the comparison.
KatadataOTO – The selection of luxury MPVs is becoming more varied with the arrival of manufacturers from China. While Japanese manufacturers have hybrid models, Chinese brands present another alternative in the form of BEVs (Battery Electric Vehicles), also known as electric cars.
Most recently, at the start of 2025, BYD officially brought its sub-brand, Denza, to the Indonesian market. The model introduced is the Denza D9, a luxury electric-powered MPV.
BYD states that the Denza D9 is not positioned as a rival to the Toyota Alphard, but is expected to add to consumer options and contribute to the segment.
It should be noted that the Alphard is not an electric car. However, it is equipped with hybrid technology, filling out Toyota's electrification lineup in Indonesia.
Of course, each has its advantages and can be chosen according to the preferences and needs of potential customers. For your consideration, here we summarize the comparison between the Denza D9 and the Toyota Alphard HEV.
The front fascia of both is dominated by a large, black-colored grille. On the Denza, there are silver accents framing the grille area up to the headlights, plus horizontal accents, while the Alphard has a minimalist look without similar additions.
Moving to the side, the Alphard's window frame looks unique with an added metallic component color from the front to the rear area. The Denza D9 is more conventional, with a silver accent embedded on the D-pillar.
