KatadataOTO – Daihatsu Rocky Hybrid has officially launched in Indonesia. This car, still fully imported from Japan, is sold for Rp 293.9 million.

This price is certainly attractive as it is even cheaper than the Chery Tiggo Cross CSH Hybrid. Although it is locally assembled, its price tag is still Rp 319.8 million.

“The Daihatsu Rocky comes with various advantages that make it a fun vehicle to drive,” said Sri Agung Handayani, Marketing Director and Corporate Communication Director of PT Astra Daihatsu Motor.

In terms of appearance, the car's look is not much different from the standard version. Daihatsu has only added a honeycomb grille and an e-Smart Hybrid emblem as differentiators.

Inside the cabin, the Daihatsu Rocky Hybrid's dashboard feels more modern as it is equipped with a 10-inch display screen. The driver is also treated to a 7-inch Digital Meter Combination that displays various important information about the vehicle.

However, its technology is more complete as it is equipped with the e-Smart Hybrid System. With this, the car is driven by an electric motor while the gasoline engine only functions as a generator to charge the battery.

The Rocky Hybrid uses a 1,200 cc WA-VEX gasoline engine integrated with a 0.76 kWh hybrid battery. This power is then channeled to an electric motor capable of delivering a maximum power of 104 hp and a maximum torque of 170 Nm.

Thanks to this, the car can accelerate to 100 km per hour in just 10 seconds from a standstill.

“The fuel consumption of the Daihatsu Rocky Hybrid is also very efficient, as it can travel 28 km on 1 liter of gasoline using the WLTC testing mode. Meanwhile, the Japan Cycle 08 test shows even better consumption at 34.8 km per liter,” he added.

For a more comfortable driving experience, the manufacturer has installed the Smart Pedal feature, making it easier for the driver to control the speed.

The Daihatsu Rocky Hybrid is equipped with Advanced Safety Assist (ASA), which includes several excellent features such as Collision Warning & Avoidance Assist Brake and Lane/Roadside Departure Warning & Lane Departure Prevention Control.

Other safety features are also available, namely 6 SRS Airbags, ABS, EBD, VSC, Hill Start Assist, Blind Spot Mirror, and ISOFIX.
