KatadataOTO – Daihatsu sales in May 2025 managed to increase slightly to 9,997 units. This number grew compared to last month's retail sales of only 9,801 units.

With this achievement, from January to May 2025, Daihatsu has sold 56,715 units and recorded a market share of 17.2 percent. This figure is down from the same period last year when Daihatsu was able to sell 76,313 units. The market share was also higher at 21.1 percent.

Nevertheless, Daihatsu has successfully maintained its position as the second-largest car manufacturer in the country.

The Daihatsu Sigra remains the best-selling model with sales of 17,823 units. That figure accounts for 31 percent of total vehicle deliveries from January to May 2025.

Then, the second position is held by the Gran Max Pick Up, which contributed 14,849 units or 26 percent. Meanwhile, the Terios is in the next position with 6,874 units (12 percent).

The positive record achieved by Daihatsu in retail sales was apparently also followed in wholesales. The Japanese manufacturer recorded a figure of 11,166 units.

This number grew quite significantly from April 2025, which was only 8,884 units. The total units sent from the factory to dealers for the January - May 2025 period were 55,049 units, equivalent to 17.4 percent of the national market.

However, looking at last year's records, wholesales are still under pressure. This is because in the same period in 2024, they recorded a figure of 70,467 units, or 15,418 units more than now.
