Ferrari Electric Car Set to Launch, Promising Supercar Thrills

KatadataOTO – The aggressive development of electric cars is pushing various parties to innovate. As is being done by Ferrari.

The manufacturer with the prancing horse logo is reportedly preparing their first Electric Vehicle (EV), named Elettrica.

The environmentally friendly four-wheeled vehicle is reportedly being developed directly at the Maranello factory, Italy.

“All main EV components have been developed and produced in-house. Ensuring everything has unparalleled quality,” wrote a Carscoops report on Wednesday (15/10).

Making it even more unique, the Ferrari electric car Elettrica will reportedly be equipped with a sound feature different from other products.

The Italian brand does not want to embed fake gasoline engine or sports car sounds in its new product.

They intend to create a new sound, made from the mechanical vibrations of the electric motor in the Ferrari Elettrica.

This concept is being handled directly by Antonio Palermo, Head of Ferrari's Sound and Vibration Division. He revealed that a 20-member team is working to realize this plan.

They process the car's electrical frequencies like musical notes, which are then processed through an amplifier inside the vehicle.

“Their goal is not to imitate the sound of a conventional Ferrari engine, but to create something authentic and completely new,” the report continued.

How it works is that a sensor on the inverter will capture the resonance from the electric motor. It is then amplified to produce an authentic sound.

Matching the acceleration and speed characteristics of the driver when pushing the Ferrari Elettrica.

The aim is for drivers to still feel connected to their vehicle, especially with the creation of a dynamic and responsive soundscape.

Powerful Powertrain
