KatadataOTO – RMA Indonesia, as the official APM for Ford in Indonesia, is ready to launch two new cars. The new lineup is believed to strengthen the company's position in the country.
Although not explicitly stated, the car is believed to be the Ford Mustang. This is because they had already displayed it at the Gaikindo Jakarta Auto Week (GJAW) 2024 event.
“Perhaps many have already seen the product at GJAW 2024. We want to continue responding to the aspirations of Ford fans in Indonesia,” said Toto Suharto, Country Manager of RMA Indonesia, to the media (10/03).
He also revealed that the car is planned to be launched sometime after the Eid holiday. So customers won't have to wait too long.
“The plan is that after Eid 2025, we will launch one new model. While the second lineup might be launched in the middle of the year,” he then added.
Its presence is expected to strengthen Ford's position in the passenger vehicle segment.
“The passenger vehicle segment is currently only filled by the Everest, and we want to add some options that are not available at the moment. In the future, perhaps the new model will be a vehicle in that segment,” he then revealed.
It should be noted that RMA Indonesia has become the APM for Ford in the country. Currently, they only offer two models, the Ranger and the Everest, both of which have received a fairly good response.
One of the models they recently launched is the Ford Ranger XL. This vehicle targets consumers in the plantation and mining sectors.
This car is equipped with a 2,000 cc Single Turbo engine with 4WD (Four Wheel Drive). The power output is 167 hp and the torque is 405 Nm.
One of its main attractions is the large size of the cargo bed. It is recorded as being 1,554 mm long, 1,584 mm wide, and 540 mm high, so it can be used to transport many goods.
Not only performance, the Ford Ranger XL also prioritizes the driver's safety features. For example, seven-point airbags, anti-lock braking system, traction control, and hill descent control.
