KatadataOTOGJAW 2025 has been held for about a week. However, this particular exhibition still seems to lack appeal in the public's eyes.

Because since it opened on Friday (21/11), the number of visitors coming to ICE BSD, Tangerang has been below expectations.

For example, last weekend, on Saturday and Sunday, not many people came to GJAW 2025.

It was even quite empty, not as crowded as previous automotive exhibitions.

According to KatadataOTO's observation, many salespeople from Japanese and Chinese manufacturers were lined up in front of their booths.

They were waiting for visitors to arrive and look at the product lines brought to GJAW 2025.

Whereas during the previous GIIAS 2025 event, the public crowded ICE BSD. It was even difficult to walk through the halls.

However, at GJAW 2025, a different situation was observed. The salespeople were just standing around, waiting for people to visit.

“This year's GJAW tends to be quiet, walk-in customers from noon to afternoon are few,” a salesperson told KatadataOTO on Thursday (27/11).

He further explained that while on duty at GJAW 2025, he saw many visitors who were just browsing.

So it's no surprise that a number of dealing areas from several participating manufacturers were relatively empty of visitors.

“There are many, I mean, many who are just asking questions,” he continued.

Of course, this situation is a serious concern for several parties. Considering the GJAW 2025 event is expected to encourage the public to shop.

Especially to buy new cars at the end of this year, thus boosting four-wheeled vehicle sales.

“Yes, it's definitely far off (when compared to the last GIIAS 2025),” the salesperson emphasized.

Last Hope in 2025

For your information, GJAW 2025 is essentially the last hope for the Association of Indonesia Automotive Industries (Gaikindo) to stimulate the market.

“We are presenting 80 participants in this GJAW 2025, consisting of 33 passenger vehicle brands, 10 motorcycle brands, 2 coachbuilding brands, and more than 45 supporting industry brands,” said Putu Juli Ardika, Chairman of Gaikindo, at the exhibition's opening.

In addition, quite a few new cars were launched at GJAW 2025. Ranging from the Toyota Veloz Hybrid, Changan Lumin, Deepal S07, Jetour T2 to the introduction of the VinFast Minio Green.

Additionally, several sales programs were also offered. Some brands even offered discounts ranging from tens to hundreds of millions.
