KatadataOTO – Ridwan Kamil continues to be in the public spotlight. Especially after being implicated in an alleged corruption case at the West Java and Banten Regional Development Bank (BJB) for the 2021-2023 period.
This time, the KPK has again confiscated evidence from the former West Java Governor's house some time ago.
"The information we received is that there is one four-wheeled vehicle," said Tessa Mahardika, KPK Spokesperson, to Antara on Saturday (26/04).
As before, Tessa did not specify the make and model of Ridwan Kamil's car that was confiscated.
She explained that the four-wheeled vehicle has not yet been taken by KPK officers to the State Confiscated Objects Storage House (Rupbasan) in Cawang, East Jakarta.
"This vehicle has not been moved to the KPK Rupbasan because it is still under repair at a car workshop," Tessa continued.
On the other hand, citing the State Officials' Wealth Report (LHKPN) on the official KPK website, Ridwan Kamil is recorded as having two cars in his private garage.
The first is a 2017 Hyundai Santa Fe. Ridwan Kamil's car is listed as self-acquired.
The four-wheeled vehicle has an estimated value of around Rp 319 million.
Next, Ridwan Kamil also uses an electric car, namely from the manufacturer Wuling.
Unfortunately, the former number one person in West Java did not provide further information about the type of electric vehicle (EV) he uses.
It is only mentioned that Ridwan Kamil's car was purchased in 2022 and is listed as self-acquired. It has an estimated value of up to Rp 282 million.
As a reminder, the KPK had previously confiscated a motorcycle unit from Ridwan Kamil's garage. The two-wheeled vehicle is a Royal Enfield Classic 50 Limited Edition.
The motorcycle has now been taken by the anti-corruption commission to the KPK Rupbasan along with dozens of other pieces of evidence.
Some time ago, the KPK explained why they confiscated vehicles belonging to Ridwan Kamil in the alleged corruption case at Bank BJB.
They suspect these vehicles are related to the Bank BJB advertising procurement project for the 2021-2023 period.
"It is certainly possible that the vehicle is part of the ongoing corruption process," said Tessa.
In addition, the KPK also suspects that Ridwan Kamil's confiscated vehicles were likely purchased using the proceeds of corruption.
