KatadataOTO – After experiencing a decline in sales, Honda is once again facing new pressure. This is because two of their dealerships have officially closed, even though a new model is about to be launched.
The two dealerships are Honda Pasteur in Bandung and Honda Jemursari in Surabaya.
“Starting Thursday, March 27, 2025, PT Indosal Pasteur has officially ceased all its operational activities as an official Honda dealer in Bandung. We would like to thank all parties who have supported us over the years,” wrote the Honda Pasteur Instagram account.
Unfortunately, the reason for their closure was not disclosed. However, the post showed the Honda logo covered with a cloth.
Honda Prospect Motor did not deny the situation. However, they revealed that dealership closures are something that can happen.
“Changes in dealership status are something that can occur in business dynamics, and we always respect every decision from our dealers as partners,” said Yusak Billy, Sales & Marketing and After Sales Director of PT Honda Prospect Motor to KatadataOTO (26/05).
Nevertheless, he emphasized that the company will maintain the quality of its services.
“Our main focus is to ensure that customers continue to receive convenience, comfort, and consistent service quality through the Honda dealer network,” he later added.
It was previously reported that Honda's sales in April 2025 faced significant pressure. In April 2025, their wholesales only reached 3,000 units, a drastic drop compared to the previous month's 6,303 units.
Then, wholesales from January – April 2025 also only reached 25,336 units. That number is 7,341 units less than the same period last year, which recorded 32,677 units.
The total delivery of vehicles from dealers to consumers from January to April 2025 was 29,215 units. That figure is down 19.4 percent compared to the same period last year, which was 36,251 units.
