Replacing the discontinued Mobilio, Honda supplied 1,000 BR-V units for Bluebird's taxi fleet.
KatadataOTO – PT HPM (Honda Prospect Motor) has discontinued sales of the MPV (Multi Purpose Vehicle) Mobilio. Previously, the lowest trim of the model was offered for fleet needs, including taxi fleets.
After the Mobilio, Honda is once again supplying vehicles for the Bluebird taxi fleet. This time, it is the LSUV (Low Sport Utility Vehicle) BR-V.
Although there has been no official statement from Bluebird, a number of BR-V units in the distinctive Bluebird blue livery have been circulating on social media.
When confirmed, PT HPM verified that the lowest trim of the Honda BR-V, the S MT (Manual Transmission), has been supplied for taxi fleet purposes.
“This is the result of a collaboration initiated by our dealer with the taxi company,” said Yusak Billy, Sales & Marketing and After Sales Director of PT HPM, when contacted by KatadataOTO on Thursday (08/05).
Furthermore, Billy revealed that the BR-V was chosen for its renowned engine toughness and efficient fuel consumption. Its durability is also claimed to be proven, making it suitable for fleet needs.
According to him, the units supplied to the taxi company have been adjusted to meet taxi operational needs.
Meanwhile, for consumers, PT HPM will continue to offer other variants of the BR-V, including the N7X with complete features and a sporty look.
“This collaboration is for 1,000 units for now and will be evaluated for the future,” Billy affirmed.
Since last year, questions have arisen regarding the collaboration between Honda and the Bluebird taxi company, considering there were signs at that time that Honda would discontinue sales of the Mobilio.
Meanwhile, other fleets like the Toyota Transmover have been updated. A Bluebird representative eventually expressed interest in using other Honda models like the BR-V.
“Again, sometimes we have the desire to go in that direction, but the APM (Brand Holder Agent) may not necessarily agree,” said Andre Arristianto, Chief Strategy Officer of PT Bluebird Tbk., some time ago.
For your information, the Honda BR-V is available in several variants with prices starting from Rp 200 million. Here is the complete list.
