KatadataOTO – The launch time of the Icar V23 is still a question mark. Yet, this electric car is highly anticipated by automotive enthusiasts.

In Malaysia, the Electric Vehicle (EV) is touted to hit the roads soon.

"Icar Malaysia states the V23 will be launched in the last quarter of 2025," wrote Paultan on Thursday (30/10).

The Icar V23 is offered in two drivetrain options in the neighboring country. Ranging from 2WD to intelligent wheel drive (iWD).

The 2WD type is equipped with a 134 hp motor. While the peak torque reaches 180 Nm.

It is then paired with an LFP-type battery. It has a capacity of up to 59.93 kWh.

It is claimed to offer a range of up to 360 km on a single charge (NEDC). It can accelerate from a standstill to 100 km per hour in just 11 seconds.

The Chinese brand equips the Icar V23 with an 85 kW DC and 6.6 kW AC charging system.

Meanwhile, the iWD variant carries a 55 kW or 74 hp motor with a maximum torque of up to 112 Nm at the front.

Furthermore, the rear electric motor has a power of 100 kW or 208 hp and a peak torque of 180 Nm.

In total, the Icar V23 iWD offers a power of 155 kW, equivalent to 208 hp. While the maximum torque output is 292 Nm.

Not to be missed, there is a power storage with a capacity of 81.76 kWh. It can take the electric car up to 430 km.

In Malaysia, the price of the Icar V23 is 145 thousand ringgit or around Rp 574.2 million for the 2WD variant. Meanwhile, the iWD type is priced at 155 thousand ringgit, equivalent to just around Rp 614 million.

Its Fate in Indonesia

On the other hand, the Icar V23 has a chance to debut at the Gaikindo Jakarta Auto Week (GJAW) 2025 event. Considering the exhibition will be held next month.

"Jaecoo will bring a new member (at GJAW 2025)," said Mohamad Ilham Pratama, Head of Marketing for Jaecoo Indonesia, on a separate occasion.

Ilham did not elaborate further on what product they would showcase to visitors at ICE BSD, Tangerang.

However, it is highly likely to be the iCar V23, considering GJAW 2025 will be held from November 21-30, 2025.

The exhibition can be utilized by manufacturers, including Jaecoo, to present new four-wheeled vehicles.

Additionally, the iCar V23 was previously rumored to appear at GIIAS 2025 a few months ago.
