KatadataOTO – Indonesia International Motor Show (IIMS) 2026 will come with various developments. One of them is the expansion of the exhibition area to invite more participants.

If the 2025 IIMS event only had an area of 133,547 square meters, next year it will reach 156,170 square meters. This expansion is because the organizers will use the Gambir and Grand Hall areas.

“The immense enthusiasm from the brands has made it necessary for us to expand the exhibition area to meet the demand,” said Rudi MF, Project Manager of Dyandra Promosindo,

The Gambir area will be used to hold various supporting programs, community events, and entertainment. Meanwhile, the Grand Hall will be used for participants from the aftermarket, which are quite numerous.

“At IIMS 2026, the aftermarket participants are very numerous. So hopefully, the automotive industry will also rebound next year,” he added.

Although it meets the needs of the participants, the vast exhibition area makes it difficult for visitors to see the entire area. Therefore, the organizers are providing a special shuttle connecting the Grand Hall with Gambir Expo.

“Last year, this facility was in high demand, so we are providing it again,” he then added.

Number of Participants Increases

At IIMS 2025, the number of participants also recorded an increase. This is because a new brand from China, iCar, is present at the exhibition.

The four-wheeled vehicle participants are Audi, BMW, BAIC, BYD, Chery, Changan, Citroen, Denza, DFSK, Ford, GAC, Geely, Greenwall Motor, Honda, Hyundai, iCar, Jaecoo, Jeep, Jetour, Kia, Lepas, Mazda, Morris Garage, Mercedes-Benz, Mini, Mitsubishi Motors, Nissan, Ceres, Suzuki, Toyota, VW, Wuling and Xpeng.

It should be noted that IIMS 2026 will be held from February 5-15, 2026, at JIExpo Kemayoran. This will be the largest automotive exhibition at the beginning of the year and is expected to boost the industry.
