Astra Honda Instructors Prove Competence in International Event

The Honda Jemursari dealership has closed and has been replaced by GWM to serve the community in the city of Surabaya, East Java.

KatadataOTO – The Honda Dealer in Jemursari has officially changed brands. The showroom, which previously focused on selling the Japanese brand, now handles car sales for the Chinese brand, Great Wall Motor, or commonly known as GWM.
This is certainly unfortunate because Honda Jemursari has been operating since 2005 and has been a mainstay for customers in receiving service.
“The dealership has changed to GWM, while the workshop now services all brands,” said a salesperson we contacted (02/06).
He also revealed that they no longer provide free Honda services as before.
“So, we can no longer provide free periodic services from Honda. It is now a paid service,” he then added.
Honda Prospect Motor did not deny that several dealers have closed their services recently. The Japanese manufacturer revealed that this situation is a common occurrence in business.
“A change in dealer status is something that can happen in business dynamics, and we always respect every decision from our dealers as partners,” said Yusak Billy, Sales & Marketing and After Sales Director of PT Honda Prospect Motor to KatadataOTO (26/05).
Nevertheless, he emphasized that the company will maintain the quality of its services.
“Our main focus is to ensure that customers continue to receive ease, comfort, and consistent service quality through the Honda dealer network,” he then added.
It cannot be denied that car sales in Indonesia in general are still under pressure. This was also felt directly by Honda, which experienced a significant decline in sales in April 2025.
They were recorded to have only achieved wholesales of 3,000 units, a drastic drop compared to the previous month's 6,303 units.
Then, total wholesales from January – April 2025 only reached 25,336 units. That number is 7,341 units less than the same period last year, which recorded 32,677 units.
Pressure was also seen in April's retail sales, which only reached 4,539 units. That figure dropped sharply compared to the previous month's 8,165 units.
The total delivery of vehicles from dealers to consumers from January to April 2025 was 29,215 units. That figure is down 19.4 percent compared to the same period last year, which was 36,251 units.
