KatadataOTO – The Indonesian electric car market will soon see a new model this year. A sub-brand of Chery Group, Jetour will bring the EV (Electric Vehicle) X50e EV for consumers in 2025.

The model was previously showcased by Jetour at the IIMS 2025 event. The response from booth visitors and consumers was also claimed to be positive.

“The acceptance at IIMS was quite positive, as many consumers were interested. And as informed earlier, it will be part of Jetour's lineup in 2025,” said Moch. Ranggy Rahadiansyah, Marketing Director of PT Jetour Motor Indonesia in Jakarta, on Thursday (20/03).

He confirmed that Jetour will soon release the electric car in the second semester of 2025. There is a possibility they will leverage the momentum of GIIAS 2025

Although there is no certain date yet, Ranggy confirmed the launch will be held this year and hopefully in the near future.

When asked about the price range, he revealed that Jetour is still conducting studies. So that the X50e EV's price tag can later match the needs of the targeted consumers.

“Continuously, we are still gathering insights from consumers. There are several methods, we do research and others,” said Ranggy.

Unfortunately, there is no more complete information regarding the Jetour X50e EV. The unit displayed to the public was a prototype, not the final form or production version.

It seems Jetour will also make several adjustments so that the model can meet the needs of electric car customers in Indonesia.

For your information, there are strong suspicions that the X50e EV uses a product base from Chery. At a glance, some parts like the C-pillar resemble the Tiggo Cross.

However, Jetour was reluctant to share more details about the origin of the X50e EV, whose full specifications cannot be found even on the global Jetour website.

The electric car is claimed to be designed by adapting to the needs and desires of potential domestic consumers.

“In Indonesia, one of the future trends is EV. That's why we also introduced an EV model (at IIMS 2025),” said Jacky Yang, President Director of PT Jetour Motor Indonesia on a different occasion some time ago.

Seeing the upward trend, he confirmed Jetour will bring two electric cars this year, including the X50e EV. There has been no confirmation regarding the other EV model.
