KatadataOTO – PT Eurokars Motor Indonesia, the distributor of Mazda in Indonesia, has revealed that the EZ-60 will replace the MX-30 in the country. However, the launch date was not specified in detail.

They only revealed that the car will be brought in the near future, although not this year.

“The Mazda EZ-60 will be launched in Indonesia soon, but not this year,” said Ricky Thio, Chief Operating Officer of PT Eurokars Motor Indonesia, to the media (30/06).

The model is planned to replace the MX-30, which has been discontinued. Thus, it is hoped that the Japanese company can still compete in the electric vehicle market in the country.

“The Mazda MX-30 was indeed an introductory car, and its numbers in the country are very limited. But its comfort level is very high,” he added.

It should be noted that the Mazda EZ-60 is an electric SUV developed by a joint venture between Mazda and Changan. The model was initially designed specifically for the Chinese market, but the strategy has since changed.

The Mazda EZ-60 comes with a more conventional design but remains elegant, modern, and has a sporty character. This combination is believed to be able to attract global customers, including those in Indonesia.

The Kodo design language, which is the company's hallmark, is still maintained, especially at the front. Thus, the EZ-60's identity as a Mazda product is not completely lost.

However, in the interior, the Chinese-style car character is very apparent compared to other Mazda models. The manufacturer did not include physical buttons for feature operation, as everything is controlled via a 26.45-inch head unit.

Besides its attractive design, the Mazda EZ-60 is also capable of traveling quite a long distance. According to information, the car can travel up to 600 km on a single charge.

This figure is far above the MX-30, which can only cover a distance of 200 km on a full battery.

In its home country, the Mazda EZ-60 will be launched in both EV and EREV (Extended Range Electric Vehicle) options.
