KatadataOTO – The significant pressure in the domestic automotive market has made PT Eurokars Motor Indonesia cautious in implementing its strategy. They even plan to revise their sales target for 2025.

The Chief Operating Officer at PT Eurokars Motor Indonesia admitted that they had initially targeted selling 6,000 units throughout 2025. However, due to the current difficult situation, a change had to be made.

“We set that number because the estimated vehicle sales were around 850,000, but now it has dropped by about 20 percent. So, Mazda also has to make adjustments,” he told the media some time ago.

He revealed that Gaikindo had stated that car sales in Indonesia in 2025 would only reach 750,000 units.

“From that, we estimate there will be a 20 percent decrease in sales from the initial target,” added Ricky.

It should be noted that Mazda's wholesales from January to May 2025 have decreased compared to last year. Based on Gaikindo data, the Japanese manufacturer has only recorded sales of 1,148 units.

This number is down 35.4 percent from their achievement in the same period last year. At that time, Mazda managed to sell 1,776 units.

Pressure was also felt in retail sales, which experienced significant pressure. From January to May 2025, they only recorded sales of 1,315 units.

That figure is 30.2 percent smaller than the achievement in the same period last year. This is because from January to May 2024, Mazda released 1,893 units to the market.

Nevertheless, he remains optimistic that Mazda can be a premium car manufacturer that provides choices for customers.

They have also prepared two cars to be launched at the Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS) 2025. It is hoped that this will help keep sales stable.

“We will present two products, consisting of one facelift model while the other is a new variant. This will give consumers more options,” he affirmed.

The presence of two new products is believed to give customers more choices and attract them to make a purchase.
