The homogenization of Chinese cars is increasingly seen as prevalent, offering high technology that doesn't meet consumer needs.
KatadataOTO – Chinese cars are known for their capable embedded technology, combined with futuristic and modern exterior designs.
However, some parties believe that many Chinese cars are currently losing their character or distinctiveness. Various models appear similar with technology that is not much different.
Especially for their line of environmentally friendly vehicles. Many current models are considered to adopt similar designs and concepts.
For example, the use of hidden door handles, the placement of LiDAR sensors on the front roof of the car, to the Three-Piece dashboard configuration combining an instrument panel, a large head unit, and a flat-bottom style steering wheel.
Then in China, Huawei's Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS), namely Qiankun ADS, has become a standard feature in many new models, including collaboration products, for example, the Audi A5L and Q5L.
A number of high-ranking officials in the Chinese automotive industry do not deny this phenomenon.
“Many companies pursue short-term profits, relying on imitation rather than developing original innovations based on consumer needs,” said Lu Fang, Chairman of Voyah, quoted from Carnewschina on Saturday (27/12).
For your information, Voyah is one of the brands under the Dongfeng group.
Lu further revealed that the components or parts used in many Chinese cars are arguably similar.
