Honda Super One is believed to be priced similarly to most Japanese cars in Indonesia.
KatadataOTO – PT Honda Prospect Motor (HPM) has given a strong signal about the arrival of the Honda Super One electric car in Indonesia in the near future.
In terms of dimensions, there is a chance the Honda Super One could become a new competitor to the BYD Atto 1, which is sold starting from Rp 190 million in the country.
However, they are still tight-lipped about information regarding PT HPM's target segment and the price range of the Honda Super One if it is marketed later.
“As for the price, we can't answer that right now,” said Yusak Billy, Sales & Marketing and After Sales Director of PT HPM in Jakarta recently.
But there is already speculation regarding the price of the Honda Super One for the Indonesian market.
It is known that the Honda Super One electric car uses the same base as the N-One e: in the Japanese market.
In its home country, the Honda N-One e: falls into the kei car category, which has compact dimensions.
When launched, the Honda N-One was said to have a price of around 2.7 million yen, or equivalent to Rp 300 million when converted to the rupiah exchange rate.
Using that as a benchmark, there is a chance its price will be above Rp 300 million. It will likely be more expensive considering the various new features and developments embedded in the Honda Super One.
It will be a challenge in Indonesia, considering its potential rival, the BYD Atto 1, is sold for Rp 190 million for the lowest trim.
Speaking of technical specifications like battery capacity, it is likely not much different from the Honda N-One e:.
The Honda N-One e: electric car uses a 29.6 kWh battery, offering a range of 295 kilometers on a single charge.
Charging can be done quickly in fast-charging mode, in about 30 minutes.
Not to be missed are supporting features such as the rear seat configuration that can be folded flat with the trunk floor, increasing the model's luggage capacity.
The Honda Sensing suite of safety features is also included. This includes Traffic Jam Assist to the Post-Collision Braking System.
The Honda Super One is believed to enter the Indonesian market next year. The unit has started road tests in Indonesia as a study and as an opportunity for Honda to review infrastructure readiness.
“When (it will launch), we cannot answer right now because it has not been finalized,” Billy affirmed.
